Before you’re able to drive a car, motorcycle, large goods or passenger carrying vehicle, you’ll need to pass a theory and a practical test.
The theory test is made up of two parts; a multiple choice part and a hazard perception part. On 28 September 2009 a case study was introduced into the multiple choice part of the test. This means that you’ll now be asked five questions based around a driving or riding scenario.
You need to pass both parts to pass it. Once you have passed the theory test you can then apply to take your practical driving test.
